Overview
XTM Inc., a fintech company based in Miami and Toronto, created the Anyday App to solve payroll problems in service industries such as hospitality and personal care. The goal was to ease the financial stress of traditional bi-weekly pay cycles by giving employees instant access to the wages they have earned. The business idea was strong, but the first version of the app lacked the intuitive experience the idea needed. We worked with XTM to turn the concept into a user-friendly platform that improves employee satisfaction and streamlines payroll for businesses.
Scope of work: product revamp, strategy, web app, mobile app and website.
The challenge
In industries where people earn money every day, such as tips and shifts, employees often wait days to access their wages, which causes financial stress and frustration. The problems were:
- Payroll delays: traditional payroll systems and cash-based workarounds are slow for workers and inefficient for businesses.
- An app that was hard to use: the first version of Anyday lacked intuitiveness, which held back user engagement.
- Payroll problems left unsolved: without a clear experience, the app could not fully deliver on its promise.

We improved usability and security by building real-time transfers into the app and creating seamless navigation. That turned Anyday into a user-friendly payroll solution for both employees and employers, with less payroll friction and more financial confidence. The app is built around five experiences.

Employees see every transaction as it happens, so payments feel instant, secure and hassle-free.
Wallet top-ups
Employees load their wallet and see their account balance at a glance, for fast and secure access to their money.
Insights for businesses
The business dashboard gives employers financial metrics, transaction details and their reward program in one view, so they can act on the numbers.
Payment categories
Employees pick their favorite categories, such as health, Walmart and food, to organize spending and follow related offers.
Rewards
Cashback rewards show progress toward the next bonus and let users redeem it in one tap.
The solution
With better usability and real-time transactions, employees now get their earnings instantly, which gives them more control over their money. The streamlined interface also simplifies payroll for businesses and reduces cash handling and operational friction. The redesign meets employees' needs and drives operational efficiency, a win-win that builds financial confidence on both sides.
On mobile, employees move between their balance and transaction history, their Anyday card and their profile with their jobs.
Merchants track transactions, key statistics and a data log on their own dashboard.
